A.A. Aleksandrov was born on April 7, 1951 in Izjaslav, the Ukrainian SSR. After leaving school
he worked as a laboratory assistant at Altai Research Institute of Chemical Technology.
In 1969 he entered Bauman Moscow State Technical University, which he graduated in 1975
with a degree in "Mechanical equipment of automated installations".
In April 2010, Anatoly A. Aleksandrov was elected the Rector of the main technical university of
Russia.
Anatoly A. Aleksandrov is the author of over 110 scientific papers in the field of risk theory,
fracture mechanics, safety and hazardous facilities operation, including six patents and six
monographs.
