About department

The department of Ecology and Industrial Safety was founded in 1930. Today it is acknowledged as the main department in Russia delivering speciality 20.00.00 “Technosphere safety” and the course “Health and safety”.

Head of Department E9 “Ecology and Industrial Safety”: Alexandrov Anatoly Alexandrovich, President of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor.

Graduates from the department work in the following main areas of activity:

1. Design and development: participation in design work in the field of creating safety tools and protecting people from technological and human impacts, developing projects related to safety issues, identifying areas of technological risk.
2. Service: the operation of protection and control of environmental safety equipment.
3. Research: the implementation of scientific research in the field of the environment and safety, experiments, control and monitoring, hazard analysis, identification of factors and phenomena that negatively affect the human environment and industrial facilities.
4. Management: risk management, organizing activities in the field of environmental protection, ensuring industrial and industrial safety, forecasting and minimizing the risks of emergency situations, organizing work to eliminate the consequences of natural disasters and catastrophes.

The department is equipped with state-of-the-art educational and scientific equipment, that allows performing effective educational process and scientific research by students and graduate students.

With the growing of environmental problems and technological risks, specialists in the field of environmental and industrial safety will occupy leading political and social positions in society.
